36 Weeks

36 weeks means we only have 4 weeks left!!!
How has this gone so incredibly fast?

Our baby boy is still packing on the pounds at a rate of about 1oz per day. He is now in the 6lb range and the size of a honeydew melon. He is shedding most of the downy hair that is covering his body.

A lot of people at church last week told me that they thought our little man had dropped so that could make our next doctors appt fun!

Here's a little video of him jumping around

We got a package from Uncle Steve and Aunt Judy with a butter dish for mom a card for Baby Cole and Tasty Kakes that I had to share with my siblings!  It was awesome to get a box of Tasty Kakes while being 8.5 months pregnant!
Last weekend was Memorial Day and so we set out to make the boat run and get it on the water. Sure enough, we did just that!! Here's Josh's maiden voyage on the boat. He had the front picked up a lot higher than this while he was getting used to driving it. Of course he has to drive it like a race car, as fast as he can and makes turns as tight as he can!
I was awfully excited to go out on the boat!
The second night we went out I brought my phone to get some pictures and we only caught a couple little bass.

Also over the holiday weekend I had time to redo a lamp for Cole's room. This lamp was something that Josh's parents gave me when I got my first solo apartment after college which would have been back in 08, so about 5 years ago. Back then Pinterest wasn't a thing and I wasn't clever enough to redo a lamp on my own. Pinterest entered my life 2 years ago and it makes me feel like I can be crafty! While Josh and I were at Target last week I told him I wanted a lamp for the baby's room and he told me I needed to look around before I just bought one. Well I didn't really look around, I just had a genius idea hit me.... This lamp was getting a make-over!!

Here's the shade part of the redo. As you can see it was gold and maroon and it was ruffly... just a little out of date, especially for the baby's room. Well I took the fabric off the shade, used it to make a template then used the template to cut out the fabric. I made sure the fabric fit (bottom left corner) then I ironed the fabric and put it back on the shade. Then little by little I used spray adhesive and pressed the fabric down to the naked shade and fastened with clothes pins. Then I cut the excess off around the edges and glued those down and added extra clothes pins. Then I let it dry for about an hour.

Then I placed the shade on the stand that I had spray painted white the night before and voila!! I have this super cute lamp for Cole's room!! I LOVE it in there and I love that I was crafty enough to pull it off!!
