40 Weeks! Due date!!

Well I've been pregnant now for 40 weeks and still no baby!!

I'm not even going to write about what my baby app says because we had a sonogram on Tuesday and I know how big he is!

We had a doctors appointment on Monday and baby still hasn't dropped and I'm still not dilated or effaced at all. So the doctor talked with us about our options of wait, induce or c-section but before we really got to talk about what we wanted, the doctor asked us to come back on Tuesday and have a sonogram. The sonogram was to measure how big the baby is. If the baby was small then we'd assume he'll fit and we will wait or induce. If the baby was big then we would talk about a c-section date after my due date and assume that he just isn't fitting.

Well the sonogram measured our baby as quite the small little guy! He measured 6 pounds 6 oz and the doctor said that since we are so far along it's hard to get accurate measurements so it could be high or low by a pound. Either way, he isn't going to be big and we are assuming he will fit, he just doesn't want to come out yet!

If he isn't here by Monday July 1st...
We will do a non stress test, which will watch the baby's heartrate for 30 minutes and make sure that he is doing alright in there. We will have our regular doctors appointment after that and if the non stress test looks okay then after the doctors appontment we will schedule an induction date for the next week, probably the 8th, 9th or 10th since the 11th will be 42 weeks and the doctor doesn't want us to get that far along.

There was a super moon on the 23rd and that didn't get him out but it was really big and bright!

I got my finger nails and toe nails done, hoping that it would make me feel more prepared and put me into labor... that didn't help.

We sent a plea to Aunt Barbie to bail him out and that didn't help

Josh asked me what I was doing at work one day and this is what I sent back to him. Obviously eating ice didn't put me into labor because I've eaten a TON of ice and still no baby!

I'm thinking the issue was the fact that his due date had the first heat advisory of the year and it was crazy super hot!!!!!

It is supposed to cool off this weekend into the 80's so I'm hoping that will do the trick!

39 weeks

Come on out baby!!
We are all waiting for you and 39 weeks is plenty baked!

Baby Cole is now just waiting to make his debut, he's still growing but is now the approximate size of a watermelon!

We had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and things were better. Baby is definitely head down and has even dropped a little bit. He still hasn't dropped behind the pelvic bone so the c-section discussion is still not off the table. The doctor said that if I go into labor before my next appointment that they will just keep constant watch on the baby to make sure he's dropping and if he isn't dropping then we will have to have a c-section. Hopefully at my next week's appointment the baby is fully dropped and I have some dilation!

Tonight I'm going to get a pedicure after work and then Josh and I are going to Bobby's D's so that I can have some pulled pork! My mom ate pork the night she went into labor with both me and my little sister so I'm hoping it works for me too! I know everyone says to enjoy pregnancy and blah, blah but it's so hot outside and I'm so uncomfortable! His butt and feet are constantly up in my ribs making every position of sitting or laying down uncomfortable! To top that off, I'm getting sick! Sore throat, runny nose, congestion and serious sinus pressure!

They sealed our street this week and so we couldn't park or drive on it for a day and I thought I'd go into labor that day just to make things difficult BUT the baby stayed in and now our street is done!

Ranger's new favorite place to sleep. He will open up the curtains and then lay on the back of the couch so he can still see out and apparently being on guard for squirrels and bunnies all day makes him tired!

38 Weeks

Cole is the size of a pumpkin at 19-21 inches and 6-9 pounds.
His job this week is just prepare for birth but shedding the white goo on his skin called vernix caseosa.

We had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and things did not go the way I was hoping! Dr. Macfarlane made a comment about our baby not being 5 pounds, so I thought I'd ask if he had a guess on how big the baby was going to be. He told me that when he checked me he would tell me if the baby was fitting or not fitting into the pelvic bones. Well he went to check me and feel for the head and said that the baby still hasn't dropped and that he can't really even be sure if the baby is still head down. If sonogram wasn't busy I would of had a sonogram then and there but he said it can wait until next week's appointment. The Dr. also said that if the baby doesn't drop by 40 weeks then we'll be talking c-section. UGH!

I was super discouraged and sad when we left. I had to hold back my tears all the way out to the car.
I'm just so ready to meet him and he's not getting any closer to coming out.

On to other news... I could eat sno cones all day every day! It was 97 degrees yesterday and I had two!

I also had a heat related melt down yesterday! I went grocery shopping and then by the time I got all of the groceries loaded and brought home, I was sweaty and feeling exhausted! Josh looked at me strangely when I had to remove some clothing items as soon as I walked in the door and then I lost it. I started crying telling him that I was so hot and that he doesn't understand what it's like to carry around an extra 35 pounds and have a human being curled up touching you all the time when it's 97 degrees outside! He then proceeded to put away all of the groceries while I laid down on the couch!

This little man has been so clingy to me recently! He is always in my face or sitting on my lap or curled up next to the baby. He knows something is going on! The night I packed our hospital bag he sat on my lap and shook all night, it was so sad!

37 weeks FULL TERM!

Our little Cole is now the size of a winter melon at about 6 1/3 pounds and over 19 inches long.

Big news in Cole's world yesterday.... He is officially FULL TERM! Doctors consider 37 weeks full term because that's when babies should be able to survive outside the womb with no extra assistance and their lungs are fully developed.

We got our little man a bigger car to ride in. It's a 2010 Toyota Venza. This was right after we got the front windows tinted. Josh is a little bit obsessed with having all of the windows tinted so we got that taken care of.

Just another picture of how cute his nursery is. I can't wait to put love him and hug him in his own room.

Another big this this week was getting my FMLA leave approved! Now I'm all ready to take off work for the 6 weeks.

I've had 2 migraines this week, which totally sucks!! I had one Tuesday night and I just went straight to bed while Josh gave Ranger a bath and did laundry (such a good husband). Then I woke up with one on Thursday morning. I haven't had one in years but I've read that progesterone levels drop off in the weeks before labor and that other hormone levels rise so I'm sure that's why I'm getting the migraines. I just hate them!

While I was laying in bed Thursday morning with a migraine I got started thinking about the urgency of packing our hospital bag. You see when I get migraines, I get the auras so I can't see and I also get really confused and can't speak very well during them. So with those two things added in, I thought I'd better get my bag packed when I get to feeling better because it'll be awfully hard to tell Josh what I want in the bag if I went into labor with a migraine. So.... I packed the bag. The only thing that's left to put in the bag is Josh's clothes but I told him that he's responsible for that.

Here's our list of things to grab before we get in the car and go to the hospital...
Car Seat
Diaper Bag
Our overnight bag
Phone Chargers
iPad
Make-up (just in case I'm feeling fiesty!)
and Towels to sit on in case my water breaks in the car or before we leave

Now, I feel really ready to have this baby!!

Nursery

Josh and Jessica putting together the crib while I read instructions!

Ranger really doesn't like the baby room and all of the action that's happening in there

As soon as we got it put together he decided he needed in to check it out and smell around

Here are completed nursery pictures...
Bed and changing table

Swing and our cool lamp!

His shelf with the baskets full of socks, hats, and pants.

The glider corner that I love sitting in!

Panoramic view of the completed nursery, my favorite room in the house

His closet with all of this sorted clothes up to 6 months, blankets and toys.

Our stockpile of diapers and wipes! Hopefully we make it to Christmas with these!
