27 Weeks

Last week in our second trimester!! Whoop Whoop! Only only more trimester to go before he gets here!

27 weeks and our baby boy is the size of a Rutabaga and he can stretch and make grasping motions now!

Sometimes I feel like he is doing head over heels flips in his little water sack and then I get some really sore muscles pains in my stomach when I stand up. He just moves so much and so often it gets so distracting!

Josh left this morning to go to Oklahoma with Cory for their "Man Trip" before their babies get here this summer. I'm glad they are getting to go but I'm an emotional wreck all the time anyway and when Josh said goodbye to me this morning I lost it and started crying. I just feel so comfortable when he's around. I'm going to miss him for sure and Tuesday night can't come fast enough!!

My dad turned 60 on Sunday so Josh and I went up to Olathe and had dinner with Dad, Mary, Erica, Vin and JR. It was pretty great and it was so fun to laugh and joke with my family. After dinner I wanted to go to mom's to see Cruz and Josh wanted to go by the gun store so I just jumped in the truck with JR and Erica... That was dangerous!!!
There were three seatbelts in the front but it was awfully tight!! I love my siblings so much! They make me laugh all the time! I just wish Barbie was squeezed in there with us too so we could all three boss around JR!

So we got back to mom's house and our baby started jumping around so my mom and Erica both got to feel him kick! That was a pretty special moment for me!

So this is the difference between 14 weeks (when the baby first popped out) and 26 weeks. That's a lot of baby!! Looking back at my 14 week picture, I remember crying because I felt so fat and now I would love to be that small again! I still can't believe how fast this whole thing is going! I'm so anxious to meet him and to have my body back that I feel like I sometimes rush the pregnancy. I need to just relax and enjoy feeling him move around.

26 Weeks

Yesterday marked 26 weeks!
Baby boy is the size of a head of lettuce and this week his testicles begin to descend into his scrotum! What a proud daddy Josh was yesterday when I told him what his son was up to this week!

There was a baby consignment shop this week and weekend so I got there first thing yesterday on their first day open! I got a pair of maternity jeans! So awesome! I also got our little man his first official redneck outfit! Chiefs onesie and camo pants, daddy was happy! The onesie is 0-3 months so I'm hoping that he can wear it when we take our next trip out to Philly! You see.... The Chiefs and the Eagles only play each other every 4 years and when they do my family in Philly and my family here likes to get together for the game! Only bummer is that our little man will still be pretty little! The NFL schedule isn't out until April 17th so we aren't sure when this 4 day weekend trip will take place but sometime this fall. As of right now my mom, brother, Erica, Abel and kids, Josh, Cole and I are all planning on taking the trip out there. Leave on a Thursday after work and catch a flight back Monday afternoon. Gets me crazy excited just thinking about it!

The camo pants and a pair of denim overalls where my other lovely purchases that are 6mo and up. I was thinking he'll need some pants so he can go get dirty with daddy!

Yesterday this baby boy was kicking so hard it was just ridiclious! I had my arm laying across my stomach and he kicked my arm twice really hard to I put my hand on my stomach and I could feel little body parts! So stinking weird! Well he didn't really stop that action the rest of the day and the night and this morning. He just kept kicking me in the same spot every time! Sometimes it's really cool, sometimes I wish he would chill out for a little bit and sometimes I'm just positive there's an alien inside of me!

On a side note at 26 weeks I've gained a whopping 18.5 pounds! Ugh! Numbers on the scale I never thought I'd see in my life!
Wednesday was the first day of spring and so I broke out the carpet cleaner and shampooed the carpets, dusted the house, cleaned the bathroom, got laundry done, mopped the kitchen floors, got all of the dishes done and cleaned out the refridgerator! Some may say it's nesting but I think I was just spring cleaning! Youth group was cancelled because of spring break so I really took advantage of my free night!
Speaking of Spring... Tomorrow we are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow.... What the crap?

I wanted to leave you with a fun little video.... Watch the top left part of my belly...

25 Weeks

Josh and I were talking last night about the fact that we only have 15 more weeks of it just being the two of us! THEN we'll be parents! FOREVER!! Crazy to think about that!
We've gotten invited to a couple weddings in July and I keep thinking... we'll have to RSVP for 3 people then! Because we'll be a family of 3!!

Anyway.. enough of the freak out here's what 25 weeks looks like....
Baby is the size of a cauliflower.
Week 25 baby's nervous system is rapidly developing and he knows which was is up and which is down.

Yesterday was an absolutely georgous day outside! We sat on the back porch and grilled some burgers, opened all of the windows in the house and just enjoyed the beautiful weather!
Ranger was on guard looking for squirrels and bunnies that may attack

Our baby boy had an extremely active day yesterday! He was so wound up that he just kicked me constantly all day! When I laid down after dinner last night my stomach was doing flips and flops with the baby! It's pretty fun to see him moving around in there!

24 Weeks

24 weeks!! These weeks are flying by!!

My baby center app says that my uterus is the size of a soccer ball and the baby is the size of a cantaloupe! I can't believe the baby has 16 more weeks of growing before he comes out! Isn't a cantaloupe big enough??

Taken today 3-8-13 at 24 weeks 1 day.
His brain is growing quickly now, and taste buds are continuing to develop.

Hitting 24 weeks was a big deal for me because I know that hospitals try to save your baby if it's born at 24 weeks and before that they don't try. Barbie had the twins at 25.5 weeks and they are now 4 years old. I guess knowing that my baby's chances of survival increase drastically every day and at this point our baby would probably survive if something were to happen and I were to go into labor early.

In other news.... We had a doctors appointment yesterday and everything with me looks great! I love doctor appointment days when I get to spend a bunch of time with my wonderful husband!
The doctor had a hard time finding the baby's heartbeat because our little man is SO active!! I'm not surprised that Cole was so active yesterday because I feel him move all the time! The doctor said not to worry right now if I feel him one day and not the next... I NEVER have that problem! I feel him all the time! Baby boy might calm down for an hour or two here and there throughout the day but the majority of the day the baby is kicking me! I actually woke up 25 minutes before my alarm this morning because he was kicking so hard!
We even got to see the baby's kicks on the outside of my stomach on Saturday! Josh was sitting in the chair in the living room and Cole was kicking up a storm so I sat on Josh's lap and let him feel the kicks. Josh took his hand off and you could see my stomach jump from the baby kicking me!

At the doctors appointment the gave me this nasty orange drink so that at my next appointment they can do my blood sugar test! Yipee! It'll be a long day at the doctor that day... 3D sonogram for a half hour and then blood sugar blood draw and then a big fat shot in my butt because I'm RH-! UGH! I'm gonna need some ice cream after that for sure!

After our doctors appointment yesterday we went to lunch at Jumpin Catfish with my dad. Gosh that place brings back memories of being a kid! Then we met Barbie and Ellie at Target to register for baby things. As soon as Ellie saw me she started yelling "D! D! D! D! D! D! D! D!" and kept yelling until she ran all the way over to me and jumped in my arms. She is so sweet!

23 Weeks

We have made it to our 23rd week! Only 17 more weeks until our little Cole man joins the world!
This week the baby is the size of a grapefruit and the inner ear is fully formed so he can hear everything that I hear. He has his sense of movement well developed so if I dance around the house he can feel the dancing!

Our baby boy is one active little man! He likes to kick and do flips all day long! It's nice that he calms down a lot at night but sometimes he can be really distracting during the day!

Last week and this week we have had a TON of snow and this picture does no justice to how beautiful our backyard was! Josh has been working late every night and he even worked 17 hours straight from Monday night until Tuesday afternoon this week. I love that he is working so hard to provide for us and that we will have some extra money to stash away before the baby gets here! Ranger and I on the other hand have spent a lot of time sitting in the living room watching Grey's Anatomy! My work cancelled one day last week and one day this week! That's never happened in the 5 years I've been here but it was sure nice to enjoy the days off!
When Josh got home Tuesday after work Cole got really excited and started kicking so I laid down with Josh before he fell asleep and let him feel his son kicking. I love it when Josh can feel the baby kick, it is such a bonding time for the two of them.

I wasn't feeling too well one day so I layed down in bed and Ranger came and propped his leg up on my stomach like this as if he was saying "Don't worry mom, I'll protect this baby." It was really sweet!

Josh bought our little guy a nice camo tux onesie that he can't wait for him to wear. It's a 12 month onesie that he thinks the baby will fit into as soon as he's born. I'm really hoping and praying our baby isn't the size of a 12 month old when he's born!

We bought this adorable stuffed animal for the baby while we were in D.C. and he flew home with us in my purse. I set it on the kitchen table when we got home and the next morning Ranger spotted him and started jumping straight up and down so he could see him and started barking like he wanted the stuffed animal to come down and play. I had to have a stern talking with Ranger about the fact that this is NOT his toy!
