36 Weeks

36 weeks means we only have 4 weeks left!!!
How has this gone so incredibly fast?

Our baby boy is still packing on the pounds at a rate of about 1oz per day. He is now in the 6lb range and the size of a honeydew melon. He is shedding most of the downy hair that is covering his body.

A lot of people at church last week told me that they thought our little man had dropped so that could make our next doctors appt fun!

Here's a little video of him jumping around

We got a package from Uncle Steve and Aunt Judy with a butter dish for mom a card for Baby Cole and Tasty Kakes that I had to share with my siblings!  It was awesome to get a box of Tasty Kakes while being 8.5 months pregnant!
Last weekend was Memorial Day and so we set out to make the boat run and get it on the water. Sure enough, we did just that!! Here's Josh's maiden voyage on the boat. He had the front picked up a lot higher than this while he was getting used to driving it. Of course he has to drive it like a race car, as fast as he can and makes turns as tight as he can!
I was awfully excited to go out on the boat!
The second night we went out I brought my phone to get some pictures and we only caught a couple little bass.

Also over the holiday weekend I had time to redo a lamp for Cole's room. This lamp was something that Josh's parents gave me when I got my first solo apartment after college which would have been back in 08, so about 5 years ago. Back then Pinterest wasn't a thing and I wasn't clever enough to redo a lamp on my own. Pinterest entered my life 2 years ago and it makes me feel like I can be crafty! While Josh and I were at Target last week I told him I wanted a lamp for the baby's room and he told me I needed to look around before I just bought one. Well I didn't really look around, I just had a genius idea hit me.... This lamp was getting a make-over!!

Here's the shade part of the redo. As you can see it was gold and maroon and it was ruffly... just a little out of date, especially for the baby's room. Well I took the fabric off the shade, used it to make a template then used the template to cut out the fabric. I made sure the fabric fit (bottom left corner) then I ironed the fabric and put it back on the shade. Then little by little I used spray adhesive and pressed the fabric down to the naked shade and fastened with clothes pins. Then I cut the excess off around the edges and glued those down and added extra clothes pins. Then I let it dry for about an hour.

Then I placed the shade on the stand that I had spray painted white the night before and voila!! I have this super cute lamp for Cole's room!! I LOVE it in there and I love that I was crafty enough to pull it off!!

35 Weeks

Only 5 weeks left!! Our little man will be here so soon!

Baby Cole is approximately the size of a coconut at 17-18 inches long and about 5.5 pounds.
By week 35 his hearing is fully developed  and his circulatory and musculoskeletal systems are complete and his lungs are mature.

I'm calling it now... I don't think I'll be pregnant until my due date... I think he'll come early.
What an awesome father's day present he would be? June 16th is the date this year.

Yesterday we had a doctors appointment and we will now start going every week until our little Cole man is here! The doctor said that the baby still hasn't dropped past the pelvic bone so no dilation yet but he said the fact that I'm having a lot of discomfort means that he is doing what he's supposed to!

We had lunch with my dad, Erica, Abel and the kids yesterday and it was so much fun! I just love how much Vin loves us, especially his uncle Josh. As soon as dad pulled up with Vin he jumped out of the car and ran to Josh and was attached to him the rest time until we had to leave. Then he was so sad that Josh was leaving. Uncle Josh even had a change of attitude towards Cruz yesterday! Usually he doesn't want to be that close to him because he is just a baby but now that Cruz is pulling himself up to standing and has a better balance, Josh wants to play with him. He is so cute with the kids!

On a side note, the nursery is almost complete and ready for it's photo shoot and debut on the blog! Soon enough!

Shower

Our baby shower was over Mother's Day weekend, how appropriate?
It was so much fun and we were blessed with some awesome stuff for Cole!

Vincent wrote me a letter for baby Cole and picked out a toy for his new baby cousin! So sweet!

Adorable monkey clothes and a bear from Josh's grandma

Josh's sister got us a tractor with a wagon that has his name engraved on it

Awesome diaper cake!

Our adorable bedding set!

See, I told you we were blessed, right?

Everyone praying over Cole and I
They prayed over the delivery and safety of the baby and over who he'll turn out to be
Very awesome moment for me

Sweet Ellie having a cupcake

Adorable little man shorts!

Baby Cole has quite the collection of quilts already!

We got a ton of diapers!!

Overall it was an awesome time, even if Josh was 30 minutes late getting there to load up all of the stuff! He was preoccupied at the shooting range and lost track of time! Love him anyway!

Maternity Pictures!! A big thank you to my sister Barbie for taking these pics! I love them!

And now for a whole blog post of just pictures! Yay!

Baby is the size of a butternut squash.

He's now recognizizng and reacting to simple songs when I sing to him! How cool? Hopefully he recognizes songs once he's born!

I'm going to write a post that is dedicated to our shower so you'll have to check there for more details but let me just tell you about our weekend. Mom, Barbie and Ellie all came down and we had a wonderful sleep over! Saturday morning we got up and did maternity pictures and it was SUPER bright out and and SUPER windy so it wasn't the best of conditions but we spent an hour taking pictures and got a lot of good ones!

Then we went to the shower and it was so much fun! There were games and the whole place was decorated in the jungle animal theme that we are doing the nursery in! Saturday night my mom and I sorted through everything that I had gotten at the shower and put all of the clothes and blankets in the wash.

Sunday afternoon Jessica wanted to go to Topeka so I went with her and we got a shelf for the baby's room and his crib! We got back from Topeka and got the crib set up Sunday night but then we had to throw in the towel because we were just too tired to put together the shelf. I'll put together a nursery blog too but for right now you can see what Ranger and I did while Josh and Jessica put together the crib.

Monday Jessica came over again and we got the shelf put together and we went and purchased a glider/ottoman for the nursery! Tuesday Josh and I put together the glider/ottoman and I LOVE just rocking in there thinking about this little boy that will soon be here!

Baby Shower and Maternity Pics on Saturday!! So excited! My mom, Barbie and Ellie are all coming down to stay Friday night then my mom is going to stay Saturday to get some work done on the nursery and get all of the gifts organized! I can't wait to see everyone at the shower and see how our maternity pics turn out!

32 Weeks

At 32 weeks our baby is the size of a squash about 16 inches long and about 3.5 pounds.

Our baby boy is going to gain half of his birth weight between now and when he's born. His skin is becoming soft and smooth and he plumps up for birth

I went to the Doctor on Friday and he felt the baby and said that he is head down. He also told me that I am more on track for a 10 pound baby than a 6 pound baby so I need to be walking to make sure I have the muscle strength to get him out. The heartbeat was 142.

After the doctor I went by my mom's house and snuggled this cutie!

Next appointment is on May 9th and then I get to do my preadmission appointment with the birth center after my appointment. Hopefully Josh will be able to go with me to that appointment.

I had three contractions on Sunday. I was sitting down and I felt one come on and it was really low and felt that bad period cramps. Then 10 minutes later I felt a second that wasn't so bad and then 25 minutes later I felt a third that wasn't bad at all. My body is just preparing to get this little man out! Only 8 more weeks!!!

***Warning***
Picture below may not be for the faint of heart...

My hands and feet have begun to swell uncontrolably and it's getting ridiculious!
Below is a picture of my fat feet that are in desperate need of a pedicure. You can't even see my ankle bones because of the cankles I'm developing.

Also, my wedding ring found a new place to hang out. There was one day that I was afraid I wasn't going to get it back on so now I'm wearing it on my necklace.
